Advanced Life Support

What is Cyber Resuscitation?

Cyber Resuscitation is a new innovative program which allows users to learn the new Advanced Life Support (ALS) Algorithms in a fun and intuitive way. It is an interactive CD-ROM covering all the essential aspects of resuscitation. Included on this CD are 5 modules covering ventricular tachycardia (VT), ventricular fibrillation (VF), electro mechanical dissociation (EMD) and asystole. Learn the ALS algorithms in 30 minutes!

•How does it work?
This Resuscitation CD user friendly interface links 3D animation and ECG tracings with an easy to use navigation buttons which allows the user to run the cardiac arrest team. Advice is always available from the cyber instructor and more detailed explanatory notes can be accessed throughout each module. A total score and certificate of completion can be printed off after attempting each resuscitation module. Every effort has been made to ensure that the CD is both practically relevant, user friendly and fun. Learning the advanced life support (ALS) algorithms has never been so easy!

•Who is it aimed at?
The CD is aimed at health professionals, students and individuals who wish to either refresh their knowledge in managing resuscitation or learn the advanced life support (ALS) algorithms from scratch.

•Systems Requirements

Resuscitation CD requires:

Intel Pentium II processor (or higher)
Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista
CD-Rom Drive
250 MB or more available RAM
Colour monitor capable of 800 x 600 resolutions

•Who designed the program?
Cyber Resuscitation has been created by by Safari Systems Limited in conjunction with Dr R Sapsford, Consultant Cardiologist & Dr D Peckham, Consultant Physician, St James's University Hospital, Leeds, UK.

•Animated ECG monitor with defibrillator - The user will need to select energy, charge and then administer the shock.

•Animated arrest sequences showing actions during resuscitation such as assessing airways, breathing, circulation, cardiac massage, calling arrest team, defibrillation and drug administration.

•Run the arrest scenario using an easy to use menu and watch the animated figures doing the work.

•Administer drugs such as adrenaline, atropine and amiodarone during arrest sequences.

•The user can repeat each arrest scenario as many times as they wish. The aim is to get 100%

•A running score with points being subtracted for incorrect actions.

•Ability to print off a certificate at the end of each module.

•A short summary presentation at the end of each module

•A list of actions already undertaken displayed on the screen during the arrest sequence.

•Detailed explanations and ability to ask a cyber instructor if you get lost.

•Bulk orders for institutions can be modified to include the Hospital or Society name and logo on the printed certificate.
